Podcasts are great. They play in the background while you work, drive, cook, travel, etc. I prefer them to radio because I can control them. That shift from radio to podcasts reminds me of going from watching TV to downloading or streaming shows.
A few of the podcasts I subscribe to: On Being, Savage Love, Tim Ferris, This American Life, WTF, Serial (when does the new season start?), HBR Ideacast, Ram Dass Here and Now and What’s the Point.
Buddy and I are beginning a new podcast to go deeper into life in the age of analytics. We’ll cover the topics on this blog and maybe do some interviews with interesting people. We’re calling it the Vendo Terrace because these are the topics that often come up at the end of the day on our terrace. We have a few beers, we relax and we talk.
We both have experience in radio. Buddy hosted a show for years. You can tell. He sounds great. I volunteered at a local radio station supporting the DJs. I never went on air. You can tell that, too, haha.
Who knows how this will go? Not us. It’s a “Minimum Viable Product.” We just recorded the first one yesterday. Your feedback is important. What do you like? What don’t you like? What do you want to hear discussed? Together we can create something that you might, maybe, sorta want to listen to sometimes.
Check it out here on Soundcloud. We’ll have it up on iTunes and Stitcher by the end of the week so that you can subscribe to the podcast.
